We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful burl walnut gold tooled embossed leather top heavily carved writing table from the renaissance revival era. It is a beautiful library table with a large center drawer with divided section. There is in the drawer a picture of a table very similar in the oval office. It also has the original old price tag where back in the early 90's an antique shop had this desk priced for $2495 and said renaissance revival library writing table restored finish, new leather top, mahogany and walnut burl veneers, solid walnut base and circa 1870-1880s. The antique shop is pretty much dead on in the description. It has a couple of loose pieces of molding that we will reattach. The finish could use a good wax finish to brighten it up. It has the tear drop pulls on the drawer. The only thing I can see wrong with the desk is that the lock has been removed and is not with the desk/table. The overall size is 48 inches wide, 28 inches deep and 29 inches tall. It doesn't get much better than this. Look at all the pictures! It has big urn shape finials on each side that would remind you of the type of finials you would see on a Victorian bedroom sets.
