SOLD Empire Flame Mahogany Full Size Sleigh Bed 1850s Antique
Offered today is this classic Empire full-size sleigh bed, in striking flame mahogany and dating from the 1850s. This piece was recently purchased out of a Maine home known for some outstanding Empire-era furniture — and this bed is no exception.
It retains its original finish, and the grain on the panels is exceptional. While there are no bed slats included, we can make a set for you—just let us at the time of sale that you want some.

Outside: 57" W x 89" L x 39" H
Inside Mattress Space: 53 ¼" W x 76" L (fits a standard full-size mattress)
Condition:
Great overall condition for its age
Original finish with warm patina
Normal wear and tear throughout
Minor veneer chips typical of any furniture dating to around 175 years old
Structurally solid and ready for use with added slats
This is a strong example of mid-19th century American craftsmanship — elegant, sturdy, and ready to add character to any bedroom.
