We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful solid oak French carved oversize arm chair that dates from the 1880s in beautiful original condition even with the original upholstery all intact. It has carved posts on top, finials that are berry laden on top of a carved tapered vase that goes down into a carved back post that goes down into fluted acanthus carved legs on the front and back that are joined with a carved cross stretcher. The unique thing about this chair is the arms that are all held up with cupids or some kind of mythological figure. They are two dudes with curly hair, lots of muscles and a carved tail. It is a great chair with the old antique wine crush velour that is usable. Could you imagine this chair done up in leather in front of a desk? The overall size is 24 inches wide, 22 inches deep, 51 inches high to the top of the chair post, 31 inches high to the arm and 21-22 inches high on the seat. It is a great chair for a desk, fireside or in the bedroom to catch your clothes at night. It is large and heavy.
