This antique throne chair is in tiger sawn oak, with carved barley twist features and lionheads on the top - this antique hall chair is in all original condition, right down to the very usable antique crushed velour fabric that does not appear to be ripped anywhere, and goes great with the patina of the 140 year old chair. Dating from the 1880s, this solid tiger sawn oak carved throne chair features carved lion heads in detail on each finial top, fluted and barley twist posts, and right in the center a carved leaf crest. Barley twist posts hold up the arm and barley twist legs with cross-stretcher support holds; this is one very nice throne chair.
The overall size is 26 inches wide across the seat, 22 inches deep, and the seat height is 19 inches. Height to the arms is 25 inches, and the height to the top of the chair is 46.5 inches. Originally this chair would have had small casters in the front, but for some reason a previous owner took them out, so the chair sits almost level on the floor. This is a great office chair, hall chair, or throne chair.
