We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian tiger sawn heavily carved oak arm throne chair that dates from the 1880’s in original condition. The fabric, other than the arms being worn on the top from wear, the seat and back are in nice condition. The frame is all tiger sawn oak. It has big balls at the end of the arms, carving throughout the entire back, the posts are acanthus and chip carved, multi-turn spindles, floral corner blocks and solid oak braces. The back of the chair must have been snapped off at one time as you can see a crack. We will bring it back to the shop and detail it out prior to shipping. The chair has minor nicks and dings from normal use. The overall size is 25 inches wide, 24 inches deep, 54 inches high to the top of the floral carved leaf back, 27 inches high to the arm and 19 inches high to the seat. It has a beautiful finish. Even with the minor nicks and dings and a couple of pieces of carving missing, it is a nice decorators chair. It would make a great photographers piece as well.
