This set of six Antique Dining Room Chairs is a unique and stunning example of the Chippendale style. Made of solid mahogany with a brown mahogany stain, these chairs feature cabriole legs with detailed Tallon ball and claw feet. The set dates back to the 1880s or 1890s and includes one armchair and five side chairs.

The chairs are extra tall with a serpentine back and City style, Philadelphia Chippendale style backs. The design of these chairs is truly unique, and in the 50+ years that we have been in the antique business, we have never seen this model before.
The seats are a beautiful velour wine-colored fabric and are in usable condition, although they could use a shampoo. However, it is easy to replace the seat covers if desired. One of the toenails of one chair seems to be missing, but overall, the set is in great condition.

The armchair measures 23 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 19 inches wide, 23 inches wide across the front of the legs, 19 inches deep, 44” tall, 30 inches tall to the arm, and 19 1/2 inches from the floor to the seat. Meanwhile, the side chairs measure 21” wide, 18” deep, 43” tall, and 19.5” from the floor to the seat.

Overall, this set of Antique Dining Room Chairs is much better than average and a rare find for antique collectors or anyone looking for a unique and stunning addition to their dining room. Although there is a little piece of carving missing on one of the clam shells on one of the crests of the chairs, it is not a detractor from the overall beauty of the set, and we only mention it because we like to be thorough.
