We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful excessively carved lift seat hall bench dating from the 1880s in wonderful condition. The bench dates from the 1880s, in wonderful condition and is most likely of European origin. It has an original dark stain finish. The wood is likely beech or some sort of hardwood, which is hard to tell with the dark stain. The very top of the crest that is 14 inches high is a big carved north wind in the center. Below that is a big carved picture frame panel with carving around and a north wind face in the center with carvings and gingerbread. It is carved all over the faces with lion heads, carved moldings and scroll feet. The overall size is 43 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 23 inches high to the seat, from the seat to the top 36 inches, 60 inches high overall. The lift seat is 31 inches wide by 15 inches deep. It offers plenty of storage space for your boots, hats, and mittens. Shipping starts at $365 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
