We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful unusual Victorian sofa that came just two blocks from our warehouse dating from the 1880's. It was a long drive! This sofa had been in the home for years. It is really nice with three hand carved crests across the top, medallion unusual shield back that wraps around the entire frame and cabriole legs. It has carved flowers, carved skirt, floral carving and the fabric is a nice antique gold fabric that has a water stain in the center. I do not know if the stain will come out or not, but most people reupholster sofas to fit their particular room. The upholstery is 85% because of the stains and some gimp issues where it has fallen off. It is very usable as it is, especially if the stain in the center comes out. The overall size is 72 inches wide at the widest point, 25 inches deep from the front to the back, 42 inches high to the top of the carved crest, 23 inches high to the arms and 18 inches high to the seat. One of the legs had a crack at one time that was previously repaired and we will check it out prior to shipping. The rear left leg is a bit loose and we will tighten it up if you remind us at the time of the sale. It is a classy sofa.
