This elegant 1880s Victorian rose marble top commode features a rich walnut base, rose-colored marble top, and tall backsplash with integrated candle stands. The piece is beautifully proportioned and offers a combination of decorative burl panels, fluted accents, and original brass hardware.

Condition:
This piece is in very nice condition overall and appears to have been refinished at some point in the last few decades. The wood is clean and has a smooth, even finish, with some varnish on the interior drawer sides from a prior owner.
• Small hairline crack in the side panel and a minor split in the wood from an old nail—both stable and not distracting
• Minor pitting and wear on the marble surface, along with small nicks and dings on the marble edges
• Candle stands are a little loose but will be tightened upon request before delivery—just remind us at checkout!
• The cabinet door closes securely but does not sit completely flush—very typical for pieces of this age and doesn’t affect function

The dovetail drawers open and close smoothly, and the piece is structurally sound, sturdy, and ready for everyday use. As with all antique furniture, this is not a new item and will not be in perfect condition, but it is in very good shape for its age and is a beautiful, functional example of Victorian craftsmanship.
