We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful oak from the Victorian era of the 1890s in original finish 56 inch wide raised panel carved hand pulls beautiful interior roll top desk. It comes with the original key. It says it was sold by the J.F. Dietz Company out of Cincinnati Ohio. I believe it is a Derby desk by the way it is made. The desk is great in a dark oak original finish. The beautiful interior has 16 drawers and a cut out multi-shelf compartment with pencil trays. All drawers are raised panels retaining the original hardware. It even has the letter holders on the side. The desk consists of two banks of drawers. The left bank has four drawers with a pull out writing surface. The right bank has three drawers with the bottom drawer being a file cabinet drawer and a pull out writing surface. The center has a drawer as well. The desk is 56 inches wide, 36 inches deep, 30 inches high to the writing surface and 51 inches high to the high S tambour roll. The negatives on the desk are that there a few minor ink spots on the writing surface and there are ink stains on the left hand side of the very top of the desk. I believe we could sand out the ink stains on the top and we could lessen the ink stains on the writing surface if you want them touched up to match the rest of the color surface. Please email us for a quote on the re-touching. The inside dimensions for the chair space is 20 inches wide by 25.5 inches high. The desk ahs raised panels inside and out. It is just as pretty on the back as it is on the front. Other than the minor chips, nicks and dings, it is a good original finish roll top.
