SOLD Victorian Oak Raised Panel Roll Top

We are pleased to be offering today this solid oak raised panel bankers tambour roll S design roll top desk dating from the 1890s in refinished condition.  The previous owners had this refinished not even 2 months prior to our purchase and they had a little bit of an issue with them being together and they decided to liquidate some of their goods.  It literally got refinished a month prior to their decision in a dark oak stain.  It is really nice with a pull out writing surface on both sides, three drawer base on the right with the bottom drawer being a file drawer, a center and 4 drawers on the left hand side.  I believe this desk is a Standard, which was a competitor of Derby Desk company back in the day.  They never put a marking on them.  It doesn’t have a key.  It is missing the escutcheon, but we will put a reproduction one on prior to shipping.  It is missing one pencil tray.  The desk has a single drawer interior with multi-cubby holes.  The overall size is 51 inches wide, 30 inches deep, 30 inches high to the writing surface, 20  inches high to the tambour roll and overall 50 inches high.  The size where the chair goes is 27 inches wide by 24 inches high.  It has the normal nicks and dings.  It is a lacquer finish over a dark oak stain.  Shipping estimates starts at $365.00-$410.00 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
