We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful example of civil war era craftsmanship as displayed in this solid black walnut hand carved with a very detail berry and fruit solid walnut crest, cabriole leg front, carved arms, serpentine skirt and even a hand carved center sofa. The fabric has been replaced in a antique beige with a floral design in the back and it is in pretty nice condition. I am sure there are some soil marks if you study it hard enough. The walnut patina from the 1860s to 1870s is unbelievable beautiful in the warm mellow glow that 140 year old walnut possess. Look at the bold and deep crest with the berries. You could almost pick them. The overall size is 68 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 54 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 28 inches deep, 42 inches high to the crest, 24 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the seat.
