SOLD Victorian Burl Walnut Marble Top Étagère - Civil War Era

We are very pleased to be offering today this gorgeous and outstanding original finish heavy burl walnut multi-shelf marble top mirror back étagère that we have had in quite a while.  It is in the original finish and all we have done to it is simply dust it off after moving it to our warehouse.  If you put some elbow grease and Howard's oil on it, this étagère would be the highlight of any room.  It dates from the 1860s to 1870s and consists of tons of all intact burl panels, multi-shelves, great mirror with a few age spots and the really nice part is that the top crest has an extra piece.  This is so unusual and you can see by looking at the picture of the back that the patina is all the same being original to the piece.  We have sold hundreds of etageres, but this is the first time we have run across this.  So, if you are looking for a one of kind unusual item than this étagère is it!  It has crown molding going at an angle on both sides and a reverse fleur-de-lis carving.  When you go down to the bottom is has turn feet, carvings on the front of the drawer, original tear drop hardware.  The marble appears to be a replacement, but I don't know if it is.  It looks different, but all marble is the same age as it came out of the ground at the same time.  I guess it doesn't matter as I would rather look at this nice clean unblemished marble as opposed to a stained or cracked one.  The overall size of the étagère is 46 inches wide at the widest point, 17 inches deep and 93 inches tall.  When you add the other 3 inches on top, it is 96 inches tall overall.  Shipping starts at $345 for a driveway delivery in our normal area.  Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are in our normal area.  Be sure to bookmark our site as we are listing new items daily.
