We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful set of 6 early Victorian carved solid walnut dining chairs with leather seats and backs dating from the 1920's. The upholstery is in outstanding condition. The chairs have a fluted bulbous leg with a very unusual cross stretcher joins the back legs to the front legs of this Victorian Tudor style chair. There is a center carved crest with fluted finials on the tops, then a padded back and below are multiple turn dainty spindles, carvings on the crest and especially on the post finishes off these great chairs. The seats are accented with an unusual brass upholster tack, which is bigger on the seat and smaller on the back that is normally a European touch. You are getting all six chairs for one money. The leather is all good, but when they were stacked in the container the leather is crushed. It is like pressing on a piece of foam and when you remove your hand there is still an indentation that goes away slowly. These chairs will do the same thing. It is nothing negative, but we want to make sure you are aware of it. The chairs are fairly tight, but we recommend that all chairs be re-glued for daily use. These are quite unique with solid oak carved frames and leather upholstery. The width of seat is 17 1/2, depth of seat is 16 1/2, and the height of the chair is 41 inches high. The shipping starts at $249 is you are within our normal area. Please check out our other listings as we are listing more unusual and hard to find items throughout the week.
