We are pleased to be offering today a wonderful set of high quality chairs made by the Drexel furniture company back in the 1940s era. We have an arm chair and five side chairs. The chairs have been completely stripped, sanded, stained and reupholstered in a beautiful in your home condition with the normal small nicks and dings left in for character. They are finished in a dark reddish brown stain. They are a high quality set of chairs in the shield back style, which is unusual. They have a serpentine skirt, Hepplewhite spade foot and a solid H cross stretcher. The side chairs are 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 37 inches high to the chair back and 19 inches high to the seat. The arm chair is 22.5 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 38 inches high to the chair back, 27 inches high to the arm and 19 inches high to the seat. They have a crush velour dark wine color seat, which is very soothing to the touch. The boys have also put in extra foam to insure that you will be comfortable sitting around the table. Do not get these confused with the regular set of shield backs that we sell for a few hundred dollars less as these are higher quality as they are made by Drexel. If we did these chairs up for someone it would $150 per chair plus the upholstery charge, so please keep that in mind.
