TyWe are pleased to be offering today this wonderful set of 4 heavy solid wood quality made brace back Windsor hoop back dining room chairs that date from 25-30 years ago. I know this for a fact as these were in our country kitchen for years. These are all beech construction or could be birch. They are solid have stood up to the time very well. In the old days when we used to make country furniture, we used to knockout chairs like these. They have a steam bent hoop and 8 spindles with two brace backs dowels in the back. The base has a fatter than usual leg and a multi-turn spindle cross stretcher. The cross stretchers do loosen up from use over the years and need to be tightened, but the backs have never loosed. They look fantastic around a country Shaker table or any type of primitive table. They are also a great accent piece. They are 17 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 36 inches high to the hoop back and 17 inches high to the seat.
