We are pleased to be offering today this Canadian version of the press back chair comparable to the American Larkin #1 chair. In Canada, this was the chair that everyone looked for. This style is made out of solid maple, press design in the back, multi-turn spindles, scooped out seat and a multi-turn front flared legs with cross spindle stretchers. The chairs are in the old varnish finish. They have a great patina. They are all tight and sturdy. All of this style chair we get are always tight and sturdy as they were that well made. They date from the 1910s. They are in great original shape. The overall size is 17 inches wide, 16 inches deep, 41 inches high to the top of the post and 17 inches high to the seat. The press back on the chair is 8 inches high. They have hip huggers that keeps the posts tight to the seat. They are a stout and sturdy set of chairs that are all ready to go into the home.
