SOLD Rare Solid Oak Monastery Carved Parlor Suite

We are pleased to be offering today this very rare solid tiger sawn oak heavily carved four piece parlor set that we refer to in the antique world as a monastery set. The set consists of a two seat loveseat, arm chair, a side chair and the VERY RARE TO FIND matching carved table!! It has monks carved in the background and different scenes throughout. The sofa has two carved panels with them gathered around the table. The side chair and arm chair carving basically match the couch. The rareness of this set is what is astonishing. I have been doing this for over 50 years and this is the 1st time I have ever owned one with the matching table. The table itself is worth at least half of what we are asking for this entire set as it is that great of a table. When the table came in, the table had a split in it. We brought it in, glued it up and colored it. The seat on the sofa was really worn and we color tinted it at the same time. Look at the numerous pictures to see the beauty of this heavy duty solid set. The legs of the entire set blow my mind. The legs are fluted, reeded and tapered. The cross stretchers in the table are beautiful. I could talk about this set for a long time, but I won’t bore you as the pictures will do all the talking. The overall condition is really nice. The only thing I can see is the back of the side chair has a lamination seam that is nothing structural. The arm chair also has a lamination seam, that may not show in the photos as it is very minute. It is a tight and sturdy set that is ready for the home. This is a set to invite everyone over to brag about for sure. The overall size of the very rare carved table is 38 inches round and 29 inches high. The sofa is 44 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 36 inches high to the back, 27 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the seat. The arm chair is 23 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 36 inches high to the back, 28 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the seat. The side chair is 17 inches wide, 17 inches deep, 36 inches high and 18 inches high to the seat. You are getting all four pieces for one money.
