We are pleased to be offering today a gorgeous and stunning two piece heavily carved solid walnut Chippendale ball and claw parlor set that dates from the 1930s. It is a gorgeous two piece set with the finish being all dark walnut stain and pierce carved. The upholstery which has been done within the last 5 to 10 years of a light beige brocade fabric which is stunning on the two piece arm chair and sofa. The set consists of a beautiful removable cushion oversize arm chair and a three seat oversized sofa. As I said before it is solid black walnut, heavily carved, ball and claw feet on both items and over all good condition.
The fabric is slightly stained and faded but offers many more years of use. The wood is slightly worn showing age marks. The only thing I can see wrong is that the dust catcher, black cloth underneath, is gone or needs to be replaced. It is a simple fabric, which covers up the webbing and it does get torn over the years. The overall size of the sofa is approximately 82 inches wide, 33 inches deep and 34 inches tall to the top of the crest. The arm chair is 32 inches wide, 32 inches deep and 34 inches high.
