SOLD Rare Carved Period Mahogany Accordion Top Game Table
We are pleased to be offering today this circa 18th century rare and impressive period mahogany accordion top queen Anne game table. This particular example has some of the very fine features such as turret corners, hinge top, beautiful carved with floral rosettes and leaf carved borders. The center of the table has a beautiful arabesque foliate cartouche. When the hinge top is open it reveals a playing surface with green felt. Each of the four corners has a dish formed round space for cards and in front of each player is an oval carved depression for game pieces. The entire top has a carved edge of flower blossoms. What makes this table unique is the hinged to support the open top when the accordion top example has been open. The apron of this is quarter sawn oak in a dark mahogany stain and the legs are also mahogany. This table has the early finish original that is aged to a deep nut brown. The overall size is 28 inches high, 35 inches wide and 17 inches deep. When opened, the table is 30 inches by 33 inches. The table is in good structural condition. The finish needs a polish and has a few small veneer losses. It would be a great addition to anyone’s home. Shipping starts at $285 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
