SOLD Antique Carved Mahogany Duncan Phyfe Game Table

We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful mahogany carved fluted column base flip top game table in the Duncan Phyfe style that dates from the 1940s.  it is a beautiful piece.  The great thing about game tables is that you are buying three pieces of furniture in one.  You can leave it closed up and it is in the shape of a demi lune stand that you can put up against a wall, behind a sofa or even in a hall way.  If you want to display a vase of flowers or a leaded glass lamp, then you can flip the top up and lean it against a wall for a backdrop and you have a beautiful mahogany backdrop.  Last but not least, you can use it for its original purpose and spin the top around and flip it up grab your cards out of the compartment to play a four handed card game until early in the morning or it also makes a great little kitchenette table for two adults.  The table itself closed up is beautiful.  We took the table top and sanded it down to the original patina, re-stained and went through the process of applying multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer and between each coat we hand rub to produce a beautiful glow.  A lot of refinishing shops would probably charge $200 for what we did for free.  We did it to enhance the beauty of this gorgeous table so that you can have it in use right out of the shipping container.  It has a multiple molded shapely top, a wide molded skirted frame, the whole top rests on a fluted reeded column pedestal that have four carved legs that terminate into claw feet.  Normally these are three legged tables, but this a four leg to show the quality.  When the table is open it is 32 inches wide, 32 inches deep and 28.25 inches high.  When the table is closed up it is 16 inches deep and 32 inches wide.  It is a great table and don’t get it mixed up with some of the cheap tables you see online as this is a high quality piece of investment minded furniture.  The cost to ship this wonderful game is table is $165.00 if you are within our normal shipping zone.  Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are in our normal delivery zone.  We also ship to all points of Canada,  but please contact us prior to purchase to obtain a quote for your specific locality.
