SOLD Antique Empire Game Table Period Flame Mahogany
This Antique French Game Table is in the flame mahogany with original finish. Dating from the 1840s to 1850s, this antique game table features a french foot, serpentine skirt, in the empire style. It is in as found condition with the typical nicks, dings, minor veneer chips on the edges that come with almost 200 years of age. The biggest negative is the normal shrinking of the wood under the flame mahogany veneer which causes a line in the top. It is typical ware and nothing that is structurally damaged, but I wanted to mention it. This antique game table is the "heart shape" model, as it looks like the same symbol used in the digital world where you put two hands together to make a heart. This antique table has a French footed base, and the whole entire game table is flame mahogany in the lovely patina. All we did was oil it up and take photos. The overall size is 34 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 31 inches high. When you want a card table or small dinette table it becomes 36 by 35. When you spin the top around there is a small compartment for game pieces. The great thing about game tables is that you are getting a hall table when it is closed, flip the top up and put it against the wall to display a vase, leaded lamp or bust. Finally, you can open the top and spin the table around to give a great place to play bridge, cribbage, chess or board game. This period game table could even be used as a small dinette table. Overall condition is as found and original. Shipping starts at $165 if you are in our normal area and will increase in costs if not. This estimate is for the East coast. You are welcome to use your own shipper if desired. Please contact us prior to purchase with a zip code to confirm that you are in our normal area.
