We are pleased to be offering this distinctive matched pair of solid black walnut boudoir chairs to you today. Dating from the 1880's, these attractive set features birds carved right in the crest, mushroom cap posts, cane backs, and rope twisted pillars going down the back legs and across the front legs. The condition is fairly good, even though there are some little nicks and dings that naturally come with age. The left hand side front leg joint is split open; these chairs really have a lot of age to them and have been reupholstered some time ago in a wine colored fabric with extra thick cushions that appear to be like down with silk upholstery—these are very comfortable seats! The overall size of each chair is 18 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 34 inches tall to the back of the posts and to the top of the seat cushion approximately 18 inches. Check out the photos, you can see for yourself that these chairs have a gothic/rustic feel to them. They really are quite distinctive!
