SOLD Oak Raised Panel 54 Inch Rotary Roll Top Desk

We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful tiger sawn oak raised panel with a rotary drawer base that dates from the 1890’s in previously refinished condition from quite a while back.  It came out of a home in southern Maine.  It has raised panels, four drawers on the both sides with the right hand side being unusual because the three bottom drawers pulls out and the base flips around reveal a file cabinet base interior.  The desk is all raised panel and was refinished a long time but not a professional, but it is presentable.  There are 7 drill holes in the panel back, not the oak, so they could put wires through.  The easy way to repair it is to put a new plywood back in as it doesn’t effect the oak at all. When you open the roll, it reveals multiple ink stains as they were not careful with the ink. It adds a lot of character.  The desk has the lock, but no key.  The finish is a medium matte finish in a dark oak stain.  The overall condition is good with minor issues with the drill holes, ink stains, brass knob missing on one drawer, open file section has a divider section broken, roughness on the corner of some drawers and the desk is nice and tight but could use detailing.  The price is reflective of the work it needs.  We are happy to provide to provide a full restoration quote via email if you so desire.  The overall size is 54 inches wide, 32 inches deep, 51 inches high overall and 31 inches high to the writing surface.  The space for a chair is 23 inches wide by 25 inches high below the center drawer.  The drawers themselves are all dove tail.  Keep in the mind that the bottom pull out side is really neat with the rotary section.  Other than the ink stains it looks very presentable.  It is all tiger sawn and would look stunning fully refinished.  Shipping starts at $385 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.  Outside New England it will change, so please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to obtain a quote for outside of New England for shipping.
