We are pleased to be offering today something that is getting very hard to find on the internet today.  It is a Larkin rocking chair made by the Larkin Soap Company back in the early 1900s.  this is a really difficult press back rocker to find.  We have had an entire set of the dining chairs and the arm chairs, but it very difficult to find a press back rocker.  I did a little research when I had my last set of ribbon back press backs and I believe this rocker and the chairs were sold and given away, if you had enough vouchers, in 1905.  This one got refinished a long time ago and the chair is still tight and sturdy.  The overall size of the rocking chair is 20 inches wide across the seat, 19 inches deep, 40 inches high on the back post at the natural state, 19 inches to the front of the seat that slants back to approximately 16 inches. It has a press cane seat that is less expensive to replace than a lace cane seat.  The double press back with ribbon design is 9 inches wide on both, so you can see what high quality work was put into this wonderful piece.  Someone has punctured a small hole in the cane seat, but it is still perfectly usable.  It appears to be pretty much all original.  It is a dark oak and the finish is very usable.  We bought it, cleaned it, pictured it and here it is for your pleasure.  You can look around all you want for another because you won't tell me that you find another one.  Snap it up if you need one.  It will cost $165.00  if you are within our normal shipping area.  Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are within our normal shipping zone.  We also ship to all points of Canada, but please contact us prior to purchase to obtain a quote for your specific locale.
