We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful mahogany 9 tube triple weight grandfather clock that dates from the early 1900s.  A beautiful clock with a brass and silver carved face with a beautiful carved raised panel bonnet top mahogany case made by the Mappin Webb Company.  The bonnet top has a shell and basket crest bordered by carved leaf tips above the molded arch flank reeded Corinthian capitals that center the door with clear glass panel.  The waist door above the raised panel base, that is raised on molded feet, has individual mullion glass.  The 8 day brass movement is driven by three weights striking on the nine brass tubes.  The original brass pendulum with glass canister for mercury is currently empty.  The brass face with sub dials in the arch.  One is for sound and chiming and three winding holes.  Mappin Webb Montreal is inscribed encircling the #6 with made in England below.  The overall condition is good.  The face and dial are original and intact.  The silver ring has been overly cleaned.  The case is in the original surface and has been undisturbed.  The overall size is 23.5 inches wide, 17 inches deep and 103 inches high.  It is a beautiful clock. We sell all clocks as is where is.  We recommend having them cleaned and serviced by a professional clock company, especially these 9 tube clocks as they are very delicate and sensitive, but we always recommend that this type of clock is professionally serviced by an expert, We use a man on the coast of Maine (Ed Openshaw) and we can get a price for his services if desired.   Shipping starts at $385 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.  Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
