
SOLD Antique Case Clock, Antique Mahogany Herschedes Grandfather carved clock-9 Tubes
Offered today is a beautiful original condition carved Mahogany nine tube triple weight Herschede claw foot Grandfather clock that dates from the 1880's era. The rich reddish brown Mahogany stain carved finish case is beautiful with four detailed claw feet, fluted columns, dainty detailed carvings and paneled sides with a foliate crest. . The pendulmn door has bevel glass and you can view the triple weights and nine tubes thru it. The tubes are stamped Herschede clock Co., Cincinnati Ohio with the tubes in wonderful condition. The movement with rotating moon dial, time, strike and fitted with nine tubular chimes, featuring Westminster and Whittington chimes. It appears to be in working condition but we always sell our clocks with the understanding they should be cleaned and serviced by a professional after delivery. Overall size is 27 inches wide at the claw footed base , 19 inches deep and the overall height at 99 inches. Overall condition is very nice. Minor dings to the case from use. The silver and gold elements to the clock face are tarnished from age. The internal bottom board of the clock case has been broken and is now reglued and reinforced,what happens when a weight falls!! The bottom board cannot be seen from outside.
