SOLD Herschede Antique Grandfather Clock / Smith Patterson
We’re really pleased to be offering this beautiful Herschede mahogany case grandfather clock that dates from the turn of the century, 1900-’20. It’s a beautiful clock with time and strike, a second hand, and a moon dial face. The face is all hand-painted and decorated, and there are small flecks of beige paint missing, especially around the numbers 4 and 5. It has a double weight, beveled glass across the front door. The case itself has an ogee foot, in its original dark reddish-brown stain finish, has spindle gallery sides on the bonnet top, and three delicate finials. At its widest point, it measures 21 inches at the top of the crown molding, 14 inches deep at the deepest point, and is 91 inches tall. This clock has been cleaned and all adjusted by Ed Openshaw, a popular clock craftsman here on the East Coast. This Herschede tall clock does have the Smith Patterson signature right on the painted face, and is in great condition. This would be a fantastic addition to any home.
