This antique Hunzinger Rocking Chair is from the famous German designer George Jakob Hunzinger, famous for his patented dual spring system base. Dating from the 1885 era this oversize rocker is towards the top of the line in his rockers he produced! Featuring a simulated leather fabric that is in great condition with brass tacks all along the sides, detailing out the shape of the frame, which has beautiful, beefy barley post twists, stick & ball supports on the shapely arms, and original finish that has aged to a beautiful patina. What really stands out about this chair is how completely comfortable it is. I sat in it for a few minutes and folks, I did not want to get up. Not only is it a beautiful antique rocking chair in what appears to be mahogany, with a dark brown stain, it is unbelievably comfortable and quite oversized so it should fit most people comfortably. This chair also retains its original Hunzinger paper label on the base.
Measuring 25 inches, wide, 36 inches deep and 44 inches tall it is 21 inches to the seat and 24 inches to the arm.
