This wonderful Hunzinger barley twist rocking chair dates from the 1890s. This is a unique rocking chair that came from an auction here on the East Coast. Somebody spent a lot of money putting on some busy fabric that still remains in great condition. The fabric looks quite nice against the old stain finish. This antique rocking chair has the traditional Hunzinger patented platform spring mechanism underneath. You can see where the label was all that is left are glue remnants. This antique Hunzinger rocking chair still features nice, original finish. We’ve had a lot of Hunzinger rocking chairs in our 50+ years of selling antiques, but we’ve never had this style with the lollipops on the bottom and the barley twist all the way around. The overall size is 26 inches wide across the arms, 19 inches wide inside the arms, 21 inches deep, 17 inches high to the seat, and 45 inches high to the chair back.
