This antique platform rocking chair by Hunzinger features the quintessential barley twists and patented spring action platform that is the flagship of this Victorian maker. This antique Hunzinger rocker was built in the 1880s, and has been completely professionally restored and reupholstered. It’s gorgeous. The fabric is a dark blue with a golden floral diamond pattern. The frame is in a dark brown cherry finish.
Overall size is 28 inches wide across the arms, 21 inches wide on the inside of the arms, approximately 21 inches deep from the front to the back, 17 inches to the height of the seat as it looks in the photos, and height to the top of the chair back is 41 inches.
This is one of his nicer designs, we’ve always liked this particular model with the pierce carved crest, carved all solid wood, and barley twist posts all over even the cross stretchers at the base.
