We are pleased to be offering today this most unusual mahogany heavily carved and unusual lift top blanket chest that dates from the 1880s to 1890s. It is unique with a notch molded crown across the top right underneath the bevel edge extra wide lift top cover. It has a door on the end that has two shelves inside on the side storage compartment that is unique. It has carved columns, carved knuckle feet, picture frame molding, raised panels on the front with carved frames with an oval carving in the center of a winged angel holding up a head in it’s hand. It is a great looking blanket box that has been sanded down, stained and re-sprayed. It shows the normal nicks and dings and a small piece of the molding on the side is gone for wear. It is all set to go into the home. The overall size is 47 inches wide, 24 inches deep and 24 inches high. The inside dimensions when you lift up the cover are 33 inches across, 20 inches deep and 18 inches high. The size is smaller due to the side storage with the two shelves. This is definitely unique to go at the foot of your bed. Shipping starts at $245 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
