We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful tiger sawn oak carved morris chair that dates from the 1890s in beautiful original condition. Someone has reupholstered the cushions years ago and they show some staining here and there, but I am sure they can be cleaned up. The chair itself is all tiger sawn oak in the original finish, carved knuckle arms, fancy turn spindles on each side of the arm, carved bulbous legs with a wonderful carved crest in the center and a great cross stretcher with a beaded design. The nice thing about Morris chairs is that the chair back is adjustable so that it can recline with 4 different adjustments on an adjustable rod. The overall size is 28 inches wide, 34 inches deep. 23 inches high to the arm, 17 inches high to the seat cushion and 44 inches tall when upright.
