We are pleased to be offering today one of the coolest and I think certainly rarest Morris chairs that I have had the pleasure of owning in my over 50 years in the antique business. It is a great chair with what appears to be the original fabric and original finish. It certainly is one heck of a Morris chair being carved tiger sawn oak across the arms, across the back, across the skirt, across the posts and simply all over. The choice of fabric is beautiful. It has the adjustable back and swooping curved arms supported with dainty spindles underneath and a tiger sawn carved arm support. It has carved knuckles on the arms down into a fancy cut out leg and even the side skirts are carved. The cool thing is that it is adjustable with the back rod and different supports to make it into a recliner. It even comes with the original castors! It is a great chair that will be hard to find one like it. The overall size is 27 inches wide, 31 inches deep with the back upright, 17 inches high to the seat, 24 inches high to the top of the arms and the height to the back in the upright position is 44 inches high. It is a wonderful chair that will be hard to find a competitor dating from the 1890s era. Shipping starts at $245 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
