SOLD Carved Multi-Face Oak Sideboard with Griffins

We are pleased to be offering today this solid oak dark stained original finish heavily carved with multiple faces and bodies sideboard or oversize server that dates from the 1880s in all original untouched condition. It shows minor nicks and dings.  Some of the carving on the drippy leaves have the corners knocked off, but you really have to struggle to see it.  The top shows wear and has a couple of lamination seams, which aren’t a big deal, but I wanted to mention it.  One of the doors has a cracked panel.  It is all minor cosmetic for the age. The backsplash is great with winged griffins protecting a north wind face right in the center.  Then it goes down into north wind faces on the front of the drawers with lion faces on the outside holding the circle rings and also in the center.  I believe the center might have had a brass ring at one time, but it doesn’t now.  The carved posts are drippy with leaves, berries and fruits.  The carved base has north wind faces on the posts and lion faces on the door.  It has two dove tail drawers on top. I am having a hard time figuring out if it is European or American.  You are getting one heavily carved dark oak stain original finish sideboard.
