SOLD Biedermeier Linen Chest Cupboard
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful rare hand to find Biedermeier piece that dates from the 1850s and came right out of a container from Denmark. It is in beautiful condition with flame mahogany fronts and is stunning in person. It has the celluloid key hole escutcheons. It comes with no key, but it does have all the locks in place. We do not guarantee the locks to work as they are finicky and usually need to be oiled and adjusted. The drawers are all dove tail with pine secondary wood. The top drawer has a little divider. It has four drawers and a door. The top has a double shelf interior and a notch rack. It appears like they used it for a cocktail bar, so you have the ability to use it for one as well. We all love multi-purpose furniture! They took and shellacked the inside of the natural pine and it is a yellow color stain. The cabinet itself is in really nice shape. It is a two piece cabinet with detail claw feet. It has a little roughness to the bottom where the doors dragged on the veneer face. Overall the veneer is in outstanding condition even on all four picture frame drawers. The sides have some cracks in the flame veneer, which is common for a piece of this age. Overall is it is nice period Biedermeier piece. The overall size is 36 inches wide on the base, 19 inches deep on the base and 38 inches high on the base. The overall height to the top of the cabinet is 72 inches tall. The top cabinet is 33 inches wide and approximately 16 inches deep. It has a wonderful crown molded top, flat panel sides and a gorgeous period look. If you are looking for a nice period investment piece, than this is it.
