We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful flame mahogany period Biedermeier abante dresser/desk that dates from the late 1800s era.  It is definitely of European decent.  This dresser is in wonderful condition with the normal problems.  The marble had a crack in it, but we professionally restored it.  You can see a faint line, but most people wouldn’t notice.  It has a beautiful flame mahogany drop down lid.  It comes with the original key.  It has all hand cut dove tail drawer construction.  When you open the lid, it exposes a multi-drawer interior with a large cubby hole on top and a leather insert on the writing lid.  The writing lid is 28 inches wide by 20 inches deep.  The writing lid is 31 inches high form the floor.  The interior is cool with five smaller drawers on top and one large narrow drawer across the bottom with a large cubby hole interior above it.  The lid is supported with two brass supports that pull out when opening the lid.  The lid has a pressure crack in the veneer that is nothing serious, but we wanted to mention it.  The flame mahogany is simply stunning.  The three drawers underneath have locks with them, but they do not lock and the key only opens the writing lid.  It has flame mahogany plank sides with a slight pressure crack on the right hand side.  The condition of the piece is outstanding given the age.  It has bun feet in the front and square feet on the back.  The overall size is 34 inches wide, 14 inches deep and 56 inches tall.  The size of the marble top is 38 inches wide by 16 inches deep.  It is a great piece of flame mahogany furniture.  Shipping starts at $365 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.  Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
