We are pleased to be offering today the very first five drawer Biedermeier period chest (1850’s) that we have ever owned in our over 40 years in the business. We have had many pieces of Biedermeier over the years and this one came in off our last container from Denmark. It is in flame mahogany with ogee molded drawers, hand cut dove tail and pine secondary wood. It comes with a key that is in place, but we do not guarantee the locks as they are finicky and usually need to be oiled and adjusted. The chest is truly a four drawer as the second and third drawer are joined together for an extra deep storage space. The other three drawers are typical size and will hold plenty of items. The finish is a dark reddish brown amber. It has a beautiful four piece mahogany veneer match top, flame sides and a wonderful gloss finish. The overall size is 40 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 43.5 inches high. The finish other than some minor flaws on the outside left and right panels, is awesome.
