We are pleased to be offering today this most unusual partner’s desk that dates from the early 1900’s. It has olive ash burl, maple, straight grain light mahogany and bird’s eye burl on this gorgeous desk. It has a light brown walnut stain. It is in the original finish. It has four dovetail curved drawers on each side of the desk retaining the original brass hardware. It has a serpentine center drawer on each side retaining its original hardware. The top is 45 degree angled with a maple pinstripe inlaid with a cross banded mahogany that encompasses an olive ash burl center panel that covers 95% of the desk top. The drawers are the same type of burl. Even the trim pieces on the bottom that join the Jacobean style bun foot legs together have a bird’s eye maple style face on it that is veneer. It is 65 inches wide, 45 inches deep and 31 inches high. The space where your legs go is 25 inches wide by 26 inches high. Underneath one of the large center drawers is a small piece of molding is missing and if you remind us at the time of the sale, we will detail it out for you. The top is shapely with a wide bevel edge. The burl in the center of the top is simply stunning. It has panel sides. The desk is in a light brown walnut stain that shows normal nicks and dings from use. The top comes off and the sides are separate for ease of movement.
