SOLD Antique Victorian Walnut Lock Side Chest with Gallery

We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Victorian walnut with burl walnut accents and incise carving six drawer gentleman’s tall chest in the lock side style. It is in the original finish. The hardware is very unique with a decorative scene. The hardware is all intact including the escutcheons. The only thing missing is the key that would take the swing side lock mechanism and lock it in place to lock all six drawers at once. I am sure you could have a locksmith duplicate a key for it. It comes with the incise gallery backsplash all intact. It is in a dark walnut stain finish dating from the 1880s era. It is in the nice original finish. The overall size is 37 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 63 inches high to the top of the gallery and 56 inches high to the top of the dresser itself. The size of the drawers are 28 inches wide, 14.5 inches deep and a height of 8.75 inches. It is a real nice dresser in original condition from the Victorian era. It does have an unusual third drawer down, which is a butler’s desk. You would never know if we didn’t show it in the photos as it looks like all the other drawers. This was kept in the gentleman’s bedroom where he would store all his office notes and business affairs in this cleverly disguised drawer. It has the original red felt that shows its age.
