SOLD Antique Victorian Walnut Chest with Mirror

We are pleased to be offering today this early Victorian solid black walnut chest from the civil war era of the 1860s to 1870s. It is a three drawer chest that has three large drawers, two ditty drawers on top, and a yoke swivel mirror in the center. At one point, someone replaced the top of the right-hand ditty box, which is colored differently than the rest of the chest that appears to be in original condition. It is all hand cut dove tail, race track molding, hand carved escutcheons, solid walnut carved knobs, spool accents going down both corner sides and a fancy bracket base. The finish is original except for the one replaced ditty box top. The overall size is 42 inches wide at the dresser base, 18 inches deep, 41 inches high to the top of the ditty boxes and 72 inches high to the top of the mirror. The looking glass is original as the glass is wavy and the silvering is starting to show through. The fancy cutout on the yoke is all intact with a pierce carved crest on top. It is a gorgeous piece of Victoriana. Shipping starts at $285 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
