SOLD Antique Wall Mirror, Antique Victorian Burl Walnut Mantle Mirror
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian walnut with burl and incise carving all over mantle mirror that dates from the 1880s in beautiful condition. It appears to be all original right down to the looking glass. This is an example of incise carved burl walnut is hard to find. It has cutout fancy carved molding, floral leaf carved corner blocks and center medallion carvings. It is a unique mirror. The corner trims on the top [art of the mirror set it off well. It appears to have no missing pieces with the exception of one of the top crest posts which I did not notice at first. The original back is pretty much there minus three small pieces of wood. We do not have any of this style of wood, but we will put something comparable on to protect the glass during shipping. The burl panels are all incise carved and appear to be 100% perfect. It has hand carved columns. The overall size is 58 inches wide at the bottom, 60 inches wide at the top and 76 inches high overall. The looking glass is 46 inches wide and 60 inches high. It has the old silver loss here and there which provides charm and character. It is solid black walnut with beautiful burl trim, raised panels and incise carving. It could be used in a hallway as a pier mirror as well. Shipping starts at $385 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
