SOLD Victorian Burl Walnut Lock Side Gentleman’s Chest
We are pleased to be offering today this 8 drawer Victorian burl walnut lock side gentleman’s chest dating from the 1880s. The dove tail is a round dove tail that they started doing this around 1870s to 1880s. It has burl panel drawer fronts with a carved crest in the center, two smaller drawers on top, six large drawers below that are all contained with a swing side lock side that locks all the drawers on the end. The key is not there. The two smaller drawers on top that are for jewelry and undergarments had a backsplash that is no longer there, but you wouldn’t notice unless you are very tall. The knobs are teardrop with the black ebony and brass background. One of the knobs had a pin missing, but we will correct it prior to shipping. The dresser is fairly tight with slight movement. The overall size is 44 inches wide, 22 inches deep and 60 inches high. It is a good looking original finish dresser. Shipping starts at $345 if you are in our normal area and will increase in costs if not. This estimate is for the East coast. You are welcome to use your own shipper if desired.
