SOLD Antique Victorian Dresser, Burl Walnut Commode, Marble Gentleman’s Chest
This unique Victorian Marble Top Dresser or Chest is in solid black walnut with walnut burl accents, and features carved pulls and marble top. This bachelor chest or three drawer commode dates from the 1880s, and is the same size as a washstand or commode. It has hand cut dove tail drawers, raised panels, hand carved pulls and a rose carved marble for a nice piece of Victorian that could also be used as a sizeable nightstand. The overall size is 29 inches wide, 17 inches deep and 28 inches high. Originally it had some sort of backsplash as you can see the two holes in the back of the marble, but most people took those off. The inside of the drawers shows ink and staining from where this was refinished at one time. The outside is a light walnut color. It is a great piece.
