SOLD Antique Victorian Walnut Cylinder Desk – Unusual Size
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful early Victorian burl walnut trim cute size cylinder secretary desk. It is all walnut with burl walnut accent trims throughout, heavy Eastlake brass style hardware, an oversize single door on top with what appears to be the original wavy glass, applied molding, rosettes, carving, and the original key. It dates from the 1880s. The overall size is 34 inches wide, 21 inches deep and 87 inches high. It has three fully adjustable shelves that are 30 inches wide by 7 inches deep. The overall condition is nice. The finish could use a good oil and possible overcoat as it has a low sheen. The cylinder is a beautiful burl walnut and has picture frame molding around it. When the cylinder is opened, it reveals a simplistic country looking cubby hole interior with a pull-out writing surface. The writing surface is 30 inches high from the floor. The three drawers below are picture frame molding, dove tail and feature burl walnut applied trim panels. It is a great desk in a unique size. The desk ships in two pieces for ease of movement. Shipping starts at $365 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. Outside the normal area will incur additional delivery charges, which could add on especially if you're on the West Coast.
