SOLD Antique Secretary Desk, Antique Victorian Burl Walnut Heavily Carved Unusual Cylinder Secretary Desk
We are pleased to be offering today one of the nicer Victorian cylinder burl walnut original finish unusual base secretary desks that we have had in quite a while dating from the 1880's era. Look at the height of the gallery with the stick and balls. It has pillars going down the outside of the bookcase top that contains two shelves with an adjustable height interior. It has a gorgeous perfect dark walnut burl walnut cylinder with spoon carving all the way around. The base has two unusual burl walnut panel doors, a triple drawer center and a large drawer on the base. The base has the same pillars as the top. When you open the cylinder, you can see where it was freshly re-felted which is normal and a simplistic double drawer cubby interior. All the locks are there, but there are no keys. All the hardware is intact. Everything is real nice. The biggest negative is that there is no key. It has panel sides. Everything is good on this desk as it is so much better than normal. The overall size is 42 inches wide, 23 inches deep, 30 inches high to the pull out writing surface, 43 inches high to the desk base and 97 inches high to the top of the gallery. The size of the bookcase top is 38 inches high on the doors. It is a beautiful cylinder secretary. The gallery comes off the top and the top comes off the base to make a three piece unit for ease of moving. Shipping starts at $395 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Outside New England it will change, so please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to obtain a quote for outside of New England for shipping.
