SOLD Antique Secretary Desk, Victorian Carved Cylinder Secretary
This beautiful, original finish carved cylinder secretary desk is outstanding. It dates from the 1870s to 1880s, in beautiful original condition. I have not seen this particular model, as it is quite unique with the carved front across the dove tail drawers, the glass doors on top and door. The crest on this desk is heavy, stout, sturdy, stylish and stunning in person. The doors have the original glass and there are three adjustable shelves on the top. The burl walnut cylinder is in outstanding condition, and the desk has the original hardware except for the bale on the bottom drawer. There is burl all over the roll, trims on the roll, crest and up the doors. It even has panel sides with walnut tops. The overall size is 46 inches wide, 99 inches tall, 29 inches high to the writing surface. The writing surface has the original fabric. The drawers are all circular dove tail, which dates it in this time frame. It does not have a key, but all the locks appear to be intact. It is a nice piece of Victorian walnut displayed in a much better than average desk. Shipping starts at $395 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
