This antique cylinder desk features a beautiful untouched original finish, in walnut with burl walnut accents. This antique lady's cylinder desk has a gorgeous carved backsplash, and dates from the 1880s. This antique cylinder desk is gorgeous and pretty much untouched, with the original hardware, a commode base, and a door with drawers going down the sides. This antique desk is spoon carved up the sides, burl walnut panels along the burl walnut cylinder, burl walnut faces on the drawers and door and then the carved backsplash. I love the handles on the cylinder roll with the brass t handles. It has all the escutcheons in place, but we do not have a key. When you open the double burl panel cylinder roll it exposes a better than average cutout pigeonhole with dual drawer inventory with nice knobs that look like a spool cabinet knob. The pull-out tray even has the original felt showing ink spots. I wouldn’t touch it, but it is easy to replace if you desire. The overall size is 40 inches wide, 25 inches deep, 29 inches high to the pull-out writing surface and 51 inches high to the carved crest. It has walnut panel sides. You can see where it has on the pull-out writing surface there is a rough edge where it probably hit an armchair over the years.
