SOLD Antique Secretary Desk, Victorian Walnut Cylinder Bookcase Desk

This beautiful Antique Secretary Desk with Bookcase Top, features walnut incise carving, and dates from the 1870s. We bought this right out of a home on the east coast, and it is in beautiful original finish. The burl on the cylinder roll is wonderful, and this antique cylinder desk has interior dove tail drawers and a great top crest. The whole desk has incised carving which is unusual for a cylinder secretary of this age.  It has a commode base, which is the door on the base. It has a large drawer on the top of the base, three smaller drawers on the left side and a door on the right side of the base.  The top has a double door bookcase top that appears to be the original glass. I can see the waviness in the right-hand side for sure.  Behind the doors are three adjustable shelves.  It appears to have the original hardware including the key.  The nice thing about this desk is that it is in the original finish.  The cylinder roll is in great condition.  The writing surface is all good.  The simplistic cubby hole interior has a drawer with the original hardware.  There are some ink stains on the inside of a cubby hole, which adds charm and character.  It appears to be all walnut. The overall size is 36 inches wide, 22 inches deep, 31 inches high to the writing surface and 93 inches high overall.  It has panel sides and original backboards.  It is a nice clean original cylinder secretary desk.
