SOLD Antique Victorian Marble Top Half Commode Ash & Walnut
We are pleased to be offering today this very difficult item to find in the antique furniture business. We list many Victorian half commodes or nightstands all year long and this is the first one I have ever seen or owned in ash and walnut. It is very unique for someone that has been in the business for over 50 years! This would blend in with a chestnut and ash, walnut, bird’s eye maple or an oak bedroom set. It has a white and gray grained serpentine front bevel edge 45 degree edge marble that sits upon the wooden frame. It has hand carvings on the 45-degree corner angles, center drawer and the door. The door has a racetrack tombstone molding and opens to reveal a single shelf interior. All the molding appears to be intact, but I am sure there are nicks and dings missing. The handle pull has a small piece missing on the right-hand side. The overall size is 19 inches wide, 17.5 inches deep and 34 inches high. The half commode has castors. There is a chip in the molding right under the hand cut dove tail drawer. It has the original knobs and lock intact. There is no key. Shipping is $185.00 for a driveway delivery within the continental USA.
